Health Ministry

Believing that caring for the bodies God gave us is an element of good stewardship, Gethsemane’s Health Ministry Team is in covenant with Ohio Health/Church Partnerships, which provides resources for health and wellness programs.

Programs include annual flu and pneumonia immunizations, monthly blood pressure checks, and periodic special health-related programs. To help support those in need, we have a Caring Contact ministry and home communion for our homebound members. We also prepare and serve funeral luncheons and maintain the “Care Note” display and the health news bulletin board. Health literature is also available in the church library.

An American Red Cross blood drive is hosted twice a year as well as CPR and first aid training periodically.

Support in other areas includes: visiting ill and homebound, arranging for meals for homebound and new moms, and assisting members with transportation to doctors’ appointments, shopping, and worship.

There are an abundance of opportunities to serve in this caring ministry. To volunteer or to receive more information, contact the church office.
