Gethsemane's Affirmation of Welcome

EXPERIENCE GOD’S WELCOME!

Gethsemane Lutheran Church is a Christ-centered, welcoming community. We share God’s abundant love through worship, learning, fellowship, friendship and service to others. We recognize the uniqueness of every individual and welcome everyone, just as God welcomes, embraces, protects, and cares for persons of every race, culture, belief, national origin, gender, gender identity, age, marital status, family structure, sexual orientation, economic circumstance, and physical or mental ability. God’s welcome is the inspiration and model for our welcome.

Visitors to Gethsemane will find a diverse people – all hungry for God’s good news, forgiveness, and peace; many with questions and doubts. We seek to fulfill God’s call for justice for all creation, relying on God’s forgiveness, Jesus’ example, and the Spirit’s guidance. Although we are different in many ways, we are one body, bound together in Christ. All are welcomed into the full life and ministry of this Lutheran congregation.

There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. Galations 3:28.
