Childern & Youth Education at Gethsemane

Children of all ages are an important part of our community at Gethsemane. We strive to include children in all areas of our life. We encourage our children to worship with us (there is nursery care for the littlest ones.)

From the youngest age we work to instill a sense of peace that comes from knowing that God loves and welcomes everyone, no matter what they do or where they go.

They learn about God’s love, they feel it from the community and share it with one another.

Sunday School
Our Sunday School starts in a large group of all ages with music and singing. We also review the lesson for the day together. Then we break up into our preschool, elementary and confirmation classes so we can work on age-appropriate skits, crafts, projects and discussions for the rest of our time together.

GIFT (Generations In Faith Together)
At other times we like to learn together with all ages in our GIFT class (Generations In Faith Together) where seniors, young people, parents, and children can learn from each other!

Vacation Bible School
In the summer, we have Vacation Bible School. For three evenings we share songs, stories, games, skits, crafts, and snacks with children from Gethsemane and our neighborhood as we celebrate Jesus and God’s love for all of us!

Communion
We have no age restriction on communion at Gethsemane. As soon as children can eat solid food , we encourage you to consider allowing them to join in on this sacred family meal. This is an individual decision to be made by each family.
