Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio
Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio (LSS) offers services to provide basic needs of people with programs reaching 36 counties in central and southeast Ohio. Programs include: Affordable Housing, Chaplaincy Services, Community Programming, counseling Services, Family and Children’s Services, Food Pantries, Lutheran Village of Columbus, Outreach Programs, Supportive Housing, and Thrift Stores.
Faith Mission serves the homeless community by offering a secure, Christian-based environment for homeless men and women on an emergency walk-in basis. The agency provides shelter, food and clothing, while helping individuals with access to longer term solutions such as housing, employment assistance, medical, dental and vision care, counseling and support groups.
Columbus’ foremost HIV/AIDS resources, the Columbus AIDS Task Force (CATF) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to assist the Columbus and Franklin County areas with the epidemic of AIDS. Assistance is provided in the following areas:
Establishing and maintaining support systems
Acting as liaison between people affected by AIDS and other concerned and involved persons/organizations
Distributing information and providing education and training for those who need and want to know about HIV/AIDS
Education of legislators and other public officials concerning the impact of AIDS on public policy and legislation
CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence
CHOICES offers a wide range of services to victims and survivors of domestic violence. The programs are responses and activities necessary to serve battered persons. Through these programs, CHOICES offers alternatives to people in violent situations, promotes a more functional home and family environment, and intervenes in the cycle of violence.
Southeast Ohio Ministries (SEOM) is a program of Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio. The program serves individuals and families in southeast Ohio, an area disproportionately impacted by natural disasters. SEOM provides spiritual, material and financial support for several southeastern Ohio counties.
