CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary worship, Gethsemane style, follows the ancient Christian worship pattern of gathering, word, meal, and sending. The repertoire of hymns draws from traditional hymnody and also from world music, folk songs, spirituals, and contemporary Christian praise choruses. The music and singing at the contemporary service are led by Lucas Weiss and a group of singers accompanied by piano, guitars, and drums.

Gethsemane actively nurtures the musical gifts of its members; on occasion the contemporary service enjoys performances of praise by choirs of all ages, instrumental groups, and soloists.
