Kenda joined Gethsemane in November of 2019. Originally from the Lancaster area, Kenda and her husband lived in northeast Ohio for 12 years before relocating to central Ohio in fall of 2018. While living in northeast Ohio, Kendra was a regular classroom teacher, instructing students in third grade, reading, and kindergarten. However, it wasn’t until after becoming a mom that she stumbled into her recent love of church ministry. In 2014 she accepted a youth director job at her former home church, St. Luke’s in Cuyahoga Falls (ELCA). With the Lord’s help, for 4 1/2 years she was able to build on the existing children’s program and created an entirely new youth program there as well. Beyond teaching, Kendra also has a major in music and enjoys playing in orchestras, various ensembles, and for weddings too.
