GLC Lecture Series – Weird and Sacred: Reading the Bible in the Modern Age
February 8 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Join us February 8, 2026 as we explore some of the strange, troubling, and difficult stories in the Bible and discuss faithful ways of reading them for our time. Together we will practice what Womanist biblical scholar Renita Weems calls “re-reading for liberation”, learning how curiosity, honesty, and justice can open new possibilities for meaning. The bible may be weird, but that doesn’t mean we have to toss it out. Instead, we can explore how wrestling with scripture can inspire hope, empathy, and a yearning for justice in the world today.
