11th Sunday after Pentecost

Matthew 14:22-33

From Pastor TJ’s sermon “God Meets Us in the Cave” on 1 Kings 19:9–18…

Elijah was exhausted, discouraged, and hiding in a cave. And when God found him, God didn’t shame him for how he was feeling. God listened.

Because God can handle the truth about how you’re doing.

You don’t have to pretend with God. You can bring the anger, the disappointment, the exhaustion, and the questions. God meets us right where we are—and then gently reminds us that we’re not alone.

And when we’re ready, God says, “Get up.” There’s still love to give, grace to share, and a next step to take.
